the mom salon
About

By moms. For moms.
No judgment, just help.

The Mom Salon started because we were tired of generic self-care advice that doesn't account for the reality of motherhood. "Just take a bath" is great advice if someone else is handling bedtime. "Book a spa day" works if you have a full day to spare. Most moms don't.

We write guides that work for real life — the life where you have 30 minutes between school pickup and soccer practice, where "me time" happens after 9 PM, and where the guilt of doing something for yourself is sometimes louder than the desire to do it.

What We Believe

  • Self-care isn't selfish. It's necessary. A burned-out mom helps no one.
  • Small is better than nothing. A 20-minute express mani counts. A 5-minute face mask counts. Drinking your coffee while it's still hot counts.
  • Tools should save you time, not add complexity. Online booking, family calendars, subscription boxes — use technology to remove friction, not add it.
  • Every mom's situation is different. Single mom, working mom, stay-at-home mom, mom of one, mom of four — our advice has to flex.

What We Cover

Our content focuses on the intersection of motherhood and personal care:

  • Quick salon services that fit real schedules
  • Booking and scheduling tools for busy families
  • Self-care strategies that don't require hours of free time
  • Product recommendations and honest reviews
  • At-home beauty alternatives for when leaving the house isn't an option

Tools We Recommend

We mention various tools and platforms throughout our guides. We're not sponsored by any of them — we recommend what we actually use or what solves a real problem:

  • Booksy and Fresha for finding and booking salons
  • Lutily for quick, no-fuss salon booking
  • Cozi for family calendar coordination
  • Headspace for quick mindfulness breaks
  • Canva for party planning and kid stuff
